A PEACEFUL LIFE------ROBBED

                                                                     A PEACEFUL LIFE
I always hated noise. Even my children were afraid  to make noise when I was at home. Being allergic to busy city life and noises there I constructed a house far away from the madding crowd some 20 kilometers away from the heart of the city. There was greenery surrounding my house, I loved the fresh air and peaceful atmosphere there. Going for long walks, raising different types of plants,  enjoying and praising nature become my daily routines till one day I found that another person was constructing a house next to mine.  Though at first I was disappointed that my purpose of building the house was lost, my wife was happy that she got a neighbor to chat. Then started my headches slowly as the house started to take shape. The workers continuously shouting to each other, the sounding horns and wheels of the trucks bringing sand and cement. the sound of the iron rods being cut--all started troubling my nerves. Slowly the work was completed and the neighbors started living in the house.

After a few days I came to know that my neighbour was a big industrialist and had people pouring in his house all the time. One such dealer was a real estate  dealer  who fixed his eyes upon the open lands there. Now you can imagine what happens. Slowly the empty plots were filled with stone, sand and cement and within the blink of a eyelid , huge structures came into existence.  Apartments of five stores became a common feature. Suddenly the whole place seemed to be filled with cars, two wheeler s, autos plying all the time beeping to their he artful and  irritating my ear. A school, a clinic, a shopping mall, an automobile workshop, all seemed to appear in no time robbing my peaceful life. There were houses with their pets barking all the time, houses with youth listeneing to loud music, cabs moving and disturbing the silent night.
Thus I was robbed of living a peaceful life. But the owner of the land there praises me  saying that I WAS A LUCKY PERSON FOR HIM  as he had earned a huge fortune selling those bits of land. Now I am nurturing an idea of the houses here and moving to a still far away place  to recover my peaceful life.!!!

INSPIRATIONS

I should have been ten years old when I had got hurt on my leg and had to go to a corporate hospital.  The  white apron nurses, the clean and neat atmosphere, the well educated doctors getting down from costly cars walking majestically certainly inspired  me young heart.  As days passed and as I grew my role models kept on changing from movie heroes to sports stars. But only when I started working as a teacher  I came across a person who really inspired me. The love he had for  children, his views towards the development of society, his interest in activity based teaching, his ideas in helping the slow learners really wondered me. He was ever ready to help the slow learners, and the differently abled children. Some of his ideas which  held me are
1]  He used to paint a wall in the nursery  and kinder garden rooms white so that the tiny tots could scribble themselves.
2]  He would never allow any teacher forcing a child to write. he used to say that finger movements should first develop and so they should first learn to cut paper, play with clay balls, paint and draw, before learning to write alphabets. He would also not allow elders to hold the hands of children and help them to write. It would spoil the originality he said.
3] Even while walking the child should hold the elders hand  and not viceversa. It develops confidence in the child.
4] If any child had not done home work ,the teacher should find out the reason....... might be there was a party the previous day or they had gone out or might be someone ill in their house, or some relatives had come...  and then help the child  to complete the work instead of punishing the child so that teacher is satisfied that her/his work is completed and the child is benefited by learning something.
5] Each and every child should be given a chance to participate in the annual day celebrations.
6] Children have the right to ask innovative questions, put forth their creative ideas in the class and the teachers should not stop them
7]Children were free to meet him and discuss their problems at any time.
8] Teachers were also given freedom to teach the subjects in their own style
9]  Children should play atleast for one hour every day that too with proper shoes and sports dress under the supervision of an teacher following the rules of the game.
10] Children  should never be differentiated from each other based on their financial status or their learning capacity. He didnot allow to children to give gifts on anyone's birthday. They were asked to make greeting cards on anyone' birthday --be it his or a watchman or ayyah's birthday.
These are only a few of his principles  A day is not sufficient to discuss about his thoughts . his slogans such as
1]  Attitude determines altitudes.
2]  I hear I forget
     I see I remember
     I do I learn
3]  Never jump to conclusions
4] Teach more test less
5]  Act as if everything depends on you. Pray as if everything depends on god.
.                             He makes it a point to see that each class is taken to an excursion to a place full of  adventure and educative. These are some of the ideas of him . A true educationist, a singer , a fine cricketer, an over all all rounder he inspires everyone with his ideals and approach. It is no surprise tha we are inspired by such a rare personality. He is none other than the founder director of our school, Mr Y K Guruwara. I thank you sir for all that you have taught me. I am sure to remember those valuables things throughout my life.
